Protesters held a vigil and a march in Washington DC, the capital of the United States, in solidarity with Iran protests and to honour protesters killed in Iran. Following 22-year-old Mahsa Amini’s custodial death after she was detained over alleged violation of Iran’s hijab laws, the country is witnessing nationwide women-led protests against Iranian laws and the leadership. Women have defied the Iranian state by cutting their hair publicly and burning their hijabs.
