Ebrahim Raisi should be denied a US visa, kept out of the UN
OIAC, August 2022

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, August 5, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Ebrahim Raisi, current Iranian president, is supposed to speak at the UN General Assembly in September. This is a source of concern for the Iranian community in the US. Ebrahim Raisi took office as the Iranian regime’s president on August 3, 2021.

As head of Iran’s Judiciary, Raisi had a pivotal role in the bloody repression of November 2019 nationwide uprising…We would urge that Ebrahim Raisi be denied a US visa”

As a member of the ‘death commission’ in Tehran, Raisi was directly involved in the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988, 90% of whom were supporters and members of the main opposition Mujahedin-e Khalq (PMOI/MEK). He has been dubbed by people as the “1988 Henchman.” Iran’s 1988 prison massacre may amount, as mentioned in H. RES 118 signed by 257 House members, according to several UN experts and representatives, to “crimes against humanity”. Ebrahim Raisi is known to have played a vital role in the sinister event, and even boasted his notorious deed. Read More

assassination-attemptsAssassination attempts: Iran threatens, targets dissidents on American soil
Fox News, August 20, 2022

Members of the National Council of Resistance of Iran exclusively told Fox News Digital of the lengths the current regime in Tehran will go to try to kill them, even on American soil.
“Since the start of the uprisings in Iran in 2017, Tehran stepped up its terror plots abroad, particularly against our movement because of the increase in its appeal among the protesters,” said Alireza Jafarzadeh, deputy director of the U.S. Office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
“Tehran saw the MEK as an engine for change in Iran and found the NCRI network abroad as the key to building pressure against the regime.” Read More

irans-four-decades-mistakesIran’s Regime and Four Decades of Mistakes
Iran Focus, August 19, 2022

Since the 1979 revolution in Iran, the country’s economy has witnessed a sharp decline. Two main factors play the primary role. One is the Iranian regime’s institutionalized corruption and monopolization of the economy by the regime’s Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC), and the second is the regime’s massive spending on its nuclear and missile projects.
According to the regime’s media, Iran’s per capita income, based on the real global and regional inflation rate, dropped from ten thousand dollars in 1979 to about seven thousand dollars in 2021, and this year it has fallen even lower. Additionally, the people’s purchasing power has shrunk so dramatically that a family in 1978 could afford 74 kg of meat with its minimum wages but now the same family cannot even afford 20 kg. This shows just how sharply the people’s economic power has decreased. Read more

US-responds-to-iranU.S. responds to Iran’s latest demands on reviving nuclear deal
The Washington Post, August 24, 2022

The Biden administration has completed its review of the proposed “final” text of a revived Iran nuclear deal, and of Iran’s response to the proposal, and sent its answer to European Union negotiation coordinators, the State Department said Wednesday.
Iran said it has begun its own “detailed review” of the U.S. reply, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani…

“We are closer now than we were just a couple of weeks ago,” National Security Council communications coordinator John Kirby told reporters. “Gaps remain. We’re not there yet.” Read More

UN-experts-alarmedUN experts alarmed by escalating religious persecution
United Nations, August 22, 2022

GENEVA (22 August 2022) – UN experts* today called on Iranian authorities to stop persecution and harassment of religious minorities and end the use of religion to curtail the exercise of fundamental rights.
“We are deeply concerned at the increasing arbitrary arrests, and on occasions, enforced disappearances of members of the Baha’i faith and the destruction or confiscation of their properties, in what bears all the signs of a policy of systematic persecution,” the experts said.
The UN experts said the acts were not isolated but formed part of a broader policy to target any dissenting belief or religious practice, including Christian converts, Gonabadi dervishes and atheists. Read More
