Women have been the main target of the Iranian regime — now they’re leading the revolution to bring it down
New York Post, November 27, 2022 by Maryam Rajavi

Brave Iranian women, supported by a generation of young men, educated and knowing their inalienable rights, have openly and ferociously rejected the brutal religious dictatorship of Ali Khamenei and all his loyalists and apologists, in pursuit of justice and equal rights.

They are organized, inspired, self-sacrificing and ready to bring about fundamental change: the regime’s downfall and the establishment of democratic rule that will ensure their life, liberty and prosperity.

Their courageous stand on the streets of almost every city and town in Iran has been met by the welcome support of all of society and the awe and respect of the free world.

Twenty-two-year-old Mahsa Amini’s tragic death in the custody of Tehran’s morality police triggered an explosion of grievances over injustices our people have suffered for more than four decades. The world is witnessing the fruition of a democratic revolution that Ruhollah Khomeini denied 43 years ago when, under a pretense of Islam, he imposed a theocratic dictatorship on the Iranian people. Biden admin takes heat from former US officials for criticism of Iranian dissident group: ‘Flagrant betrayal’
The MEK has picked up significant support from former officials and lawmakers
Fox News, November 30, 2022

The Biden administration is taking criticism from former U.S. officials and lawmakers from both parties for what they call a “flagrant betrayal” of the Iranian people — after the State Dept. distances itself from a top Iranian dissident group, which it said it does not see as a “viable” alternative to the existing regime.

A State Department spokesperson this month told media outlets that it “continues to have serious concerns” about the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, or MEK, including long-standing allegations about abuse committed against its members.
“As we have said, while the United States revoked the designation of the MEK as a foreign terrorist organization in September 2012, the United States does not see the MEK as a viable democratic opposition movement that is representative of the Iranian people,” a spokesperson said.. Read More

Congressional Briefing Nov 17, 2022
OIAC, November 20, 2022

Washington, DC – On Thursday November 17, 2022, Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) held a Briefing in the U.S. House of Representatives during which bipartisan members of Congress, former Iran political prisoners, and women’s rights activists expressed unequivocal support for the unfolding revolution for democratic republic in Iran.

Part of its weeks long campaign aimed at elevating the voice of pro-democracy protesters, the event featured passionate bipartisan calls for the United States Government to recognize the Iranian people’s right to self determination and self-defense.

Addressing the US House Representatives, Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the parliament-in-exile National Council of Resistance of Iran, said in her remarks, “The American Declaration of Independence states that whenever a government becomes destructive of its citizens’ rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, it is the People’s Right to alter or abolish it and to institute a new Government, laying its foundation on such principles.”. UN rights body deplores Iran crackdown, establishes probe
AP, November 24, 2022

BERLIN (AP) — The U.N. Human Rights Council voted Thursday to condemn the bloody crackdown on peaceful protests in Iran and create an independent fact-finding mission to investigate alleged abuses, particularly those committed against women and children.

A resolution put forward by Germany and Iceland was backed by 25 countries, including the United States and many European, Latin American, Asian and African nations. Six countries opposed the move — China, Pakistan, Cuba, Eritrea, Venezuela and Armenia — while 16 abstained.

The United Nations’ top human rights official had earlier appealed to Iran’s government to halt the crackdown against protesters, but Tehran’s envoy at a special Human Rights Council on the country’s “deteriorating” rights situation was defiant and unbowed, blasting the initiative as “politically motivated.” Read More

Iranian protesters celebrate World Cup defeat, as fears surround players’ return
CNN, November 30, 2022

Tehran and other Iranian cities on Tuesday evening, as protesters hailed the country’s exit from the tournament as a blow to the ruling regime. The nation was eliminated from the tournament in Qatar after its 1-0 loss on Tuesday, ending a campaign that has been overshadowed by anti-government protests that have raged for months at home.

People in several Iranian cities celebrated from inside their homes and residential buildings moments after the final whistle, which came in the early hours of Wednesday local time, while videos posted on social media showed people honking their car horns, chanting and whistling.

“I am happy, this is the government losing to the people,” one witness to celebrations in a city in the Kurdish region, who CNN is not naming for security concerns, told CNN on Wednesday. Read More
