About OIAC
The Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) is a nationwide, volunteer-led movement of Iranian-Americans and allies committed to advocating for human rights, democracy, and secular Iranian republic.
We are united by one belief: freedom is not a privilege, requires sacrifice, and is a universal right.
Founded by survivors of the crimes committed by the Iranian regime, OIAC amplifies the voices of those still living under oppression and works toward a future free from fear, violence, and tyranny.
OIAC is also a platform where Iranian-Americans and supporters of freedom come together, share their stories, and take action for a democratic Iran.
We empower communities to speak out, take action, and shape U.S. policy in support of the Iranian people’s fight for freedom.
We believe the latter is also in the best interest of the both Iranian and American people.
Mission
We unite Iranian-Americans and allies to advocate for a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear republic Iran built on the principles of human rights, gender equality, and justice.
We empower communities and inform U.S. leaders to stand with the Iranian people, not the regime.
Freedom in Iran is not only possible, it’s urgently needed.
The Iranian people deserve global support in reclaiming their freedom and dignity.
U.S. policy must shift from appeasing the regime to supporting the people.
A free Iran strengthens peace and security in the U.S., the Middle East, and beyond.
The Iranian Resistance has the capabilities to deliver real democratic change.
Vision
A free and democratic Iran, where all people live with dignity, under a government that respects human rights, equality, and the rule of law.
Who We Are
OIAC is a nationwide coalition led by Iranian-Americans, and powered entirely by volunteers.
Though Iranian-Americans have found safety and opportunity in the U.S., we remain deeply connected to those still resisting tyranny. OIAC turns that connection into action.
We are your neighbors, students, professionals, families, and advocates, who believe American values and the Iranian people’s dreams for freedom are deeply aligned.

A Founding Member’s Story
At age 17, Dr. Majid Sadeghpour watched his older brother get arrested and later executed for opposing the regime in Iran. Fearing Majid would be next, his family helped him escape Iran alone. He arrived in the U.S. with a few personal belongings, a letter from his brother, and a promise to never forget those left behind.
His story is one of thousands. For decades, Iranians have risked everything to fight for freedom despite the violent regime's persecution. Today, Majid is a founding voice of OIAC. His voice is one of many in our community whose experience shapes our mission and inspires a new generation of Iranian-American leaders committed to building a free, democratic future for Iran.
Dr. Sadeghpour’s decades of activism, shaped by personal loss, love of community, resilience, and a lifelong belief in secular democracy, have helped inspire a new generation of Iranian-American leaders.
