Hi. This is Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis and I’m proud to sponsor House Resolution 118, which was recently adopted by the House of Representatives. In this resolution, we advocate for the Iranian people to have freedom to be able to speak out against their government and utilize the same freedom of speech that we hold so dear here in the United States of America.
The Iranian people who are brave and willing to speak out against the regime, calling for nonnuclear solutions and making sure that they have the freedoms to demonstrate is so critically important and something that I greatly support, not only as a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee but as a daughter of a Cuban refugee, who understands that under certain regimes, you’re unable to have those freedoms and liberties that we hold so dear in the United States of America.
