The Grand Gathering Paris 2011

At a large event in Paris, France, exiled Iranians from all over the world called for international protection of Camp Ashraf of refugees in Iraq in a great gathering in Paris yesterday, Austrian Channel 1 Television reported on June 19. The prelude to the large gathering in Paris was unfortunately, Iraq’s military attack against Camp Ashraf in early April, 2011. During that attack, 36 people were killed and about 300 were wounded. Maryam Rajavi, President of the resistance movement said the attack was carried out at the orders of the Iranian government.

Austrian news agency, June 18, 2011 – Iranian exiles gathered in Paris on Saturday from across the globe in a huge rally that called for international protection of the refugee camp Ashraf in Iraq.

The Iraqi government, which is under the control of Shiite religious groups and has close ties to Tehran, labels the Iranian movement as a “terrorist group.”

Among the guest speakers were former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and American politician Patrick Kennedy. Also included was the former President of the German Federal Parliament Rita Süssmuth.
