Latest
Iranian university students, high school students, and the overwhelming majority of Iran’s under 20 and under 35 generations have come out resoundingly in opposition to the very foundation of religious rule and the system that Ruhollah Khomeini founded, and Ali Khamenei has finessed into an autocratic, and repressive religious dictatorship.

Every day for the past six weeks, brave young students march on campuses from the northwest to the southeast of Iran, to kick off the day’s “Death to Khamenei” chants and then pour into the streets to mingle with their compatriots in flash protests to show the regime that they will not rest until this regime is done and gone.

The regime has boosted security at universities and flooded campuses with as many Basij forces it can muster these days to prevent demonstrations, but protests continue by a defiant generation, and the regime is coming up short.

Today, government spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi visited Khajeh Nasir University and faced the students’ rage as they booed him away with chants of “We don’t want a corrupt system, we don’t want a murderous guest”, “Spokesman get lost”, “Death to the mullahs’ regime”.

More than anywhere else, they are adamant of “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader [Khamenei]” in a pointed message to all listening that this revolution is aims to relegate all forms of dictatorships, past and present, to where they belong.

The students’ resistance demonstrates that the repression of the regime will not work against this young generation born into modernity and loathe to these historic relics (mullahs) leading them into misery. Silenced for a few days, they regroup and resurge and urge larger society to an irresistible future of freedom, democracy, gender equality, and separation of religion and state that the world has begun to admire.

Today’s protests, below, are a showcase of the younger generation’s resistance and the spark they and the organized resistance provide for an uprising that will continue to the regime’s downfall.

About 130 neurosurgeons called on the Iranian regime to halt its violent and brutal crackdown on protesters, especially on “children and teenagers,” and to stop in interfering in their medical affairs and allow the injured to receive the medical care they deserve. Multiple reports indicate that security forces systematically station Basij and security and intelligence operatives at hospitals and sweep the ER and wards to arrest anyone of suspected of having participated in the protests. People injured during protests are afraid to seek medical care at hospitals and clinics for fear of being arrested and are forced to seek private care or tend to their injuries at home.

Resistance
On Friday, October 21, 2022, during a virtual congressional briefing in support of the ongoing uprising in Iran, over 30 bi-partisan members of the United States Congress expressed support for the Iranian people’s continued protests for a free Iran.

In the current 117th Congress, H.Res.118 with 257 bipartisan cosponsors explicitly expresses, “support for the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic, secular, and nonnuclear Republic of Iran.” This resolution also noted “support for the opposition leader Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan for the future of Iran, which calls for the universal right to vote, free elections, and a market economy, and advocates gender, religious, and ethnic equality, a foreign policy based on peaceful coexistence, and a nonnuclear Iran.”

Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, opened this virtual event, sponsored by the Organization of Iranian American Communities, with her remarks, followed by bi-partisan members of U.S. Congress.
