Picket line to Free Protesters in Iran

February 3, 2018

Atlanta, Georgia – A picket line was organized at the Ponce City Market by Iranian American Community of Georgia (network member of OIAC) and their supporters calling to free all protesters in #Iran. As you may know, early last month in the first wave of protests against the fascist rule of clergies more than 8,000 protesters were detained in peaceful protests that spread in more than 132 cities across Iran. So far, more than 50 protesters have been killed during street protests and at least 15 detained protestors have been murdered while in custody.

The participants echoed Iranian people’s call for #RegimeChange in Iran. They also encouraged the well-receiving by-passers to ask their Representative to cosponsor “H.Res.188 condemning the government of Iran for the 1988 massacre of political prisoners”; because the same perpetrators of 1988 massacre of 30,000 dissidents are responsible for intimidation, torture and murder of the 2018 protesters in Iran.
